What is TMH?

Putting it simply, TMH is using technology to deliver counseling from a distance. Clients who are located far away or who want to save time can partake in counseling from home. See below for additional information.
Services
Counseling
Clients are connected with a licensed psychotherapist for weekly sessions. Sessions are 45 to 50 minutes in duration and typically occur each week on the same day and at the time.
Help With
Our psychotherapists help clients cope with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief, traumatic events, and other mental health concerns.
Area of Service
Our in-person mental health services are only for clients who reside in the DFW Metropolitan Area and our telemental health services are statewide. We have physical locations in Dallas, Denton, and Fort Worth.
What is needed?

Clients need a computer or laptop, reliable internet, and a webcam and microphone. Also, a room with privacy and free of distractions.
​How does it work?

Similar to Skype, our clinic uses VSee. This encrypted videoconferencing program enables the TMH counseling sessions.
TeleMental Health Program Points

Our TMH program is for adult veterans, and their immediate family members (i.e., spouse and children).

The treatment level for our TMH sessions is individual counseling, couples counseling, and family therapy.

Only some treatments and strategies are suitable for TMH. For instance, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy may be used by our counselors via TMH. Please talk to your counselor regarding treatments, strategies, and interventions.

Our program requires identifying a support person, and local emergency contacts prior to beginning TMH sessions.

Other Information
TMH Training
All of our TeleMental Health service staff receive 15 hours of training on technology-assisted counseling in accordance with Texas licensure requirements.
